French Roulette
While the online roulette games of American Roulette and European Roulette are quite similar – this is not the case with French Roulette. This game is played in a similar way to the other roulette for Canadians games, but the betting area is quite different and there are a number of things that distinguish this game from the other two. Players who are seeking a new adventure in roulette will enjoy playing this type of roulette as long as they’ve done their homework and become familiar with the nuances of the French Roulette game.
Playing the Game
The basic way to play French Roulette is the same as the other roulette types. Players decide what type of bet they want to make and how much they want to wager. The wheel is then spun and players wait to see if they’ve hit the mark or if they have lost their hand. The bets are very different with this game, however, and the names are certainly something new to learn for many. The betting area in this type of the online roulette games looks like a racetrack and for that reason it’s called racetrack betting. The outside bets are the ones in French Roulette that have been renamed and it’s helpful to understand what they are. The French Pair is the same thing as an Even bet in American or European Roulette and it pays 1:1. The Impair is the Odd and the P12 is the first dozen bet (1-12). Now, the M12 is the second dozen (13-24) and the D12 is the third dozen (25-36). For anyone who is already familiar with the other roulette types, this should help the player to understand the French Roulette bet types.
Main Bets with Roulette for Canadians
With French Roulette there are extra bets in addition to the inside and outside bets. These main bets on the racetrack are called call bets. They are as follows. The Voisins du Zero (neighbors of zero) covers 17 numbers that surround and include the green 0. The Tiers du Cylindre (thirds of the wheel) covers 12 numbers opposite the Voisins du Zero. And the Orphelins (orphans) covers the 8 numbers that are left and not covered by the other two call bets. There is also a neighbors bet which covers five neighboring numbers. This is a clever bet that lets you cover five numbers to quickly cover a section on the wheel without having to manually place each bet.
Another Interesting Feature with French Roulette
Some online casinos also have another feature with French Roulette – but certainly not all casinos have this. It’s the La partage/en prison rules. This means that the rules move the house edge on all even bets from 2.70% to 1.35%. If players have these rules in place they will become active when the player places an even bet and the ball lands on the 0. With la partage the player will get half of the events bet wagers back. With En prison the evens bet is held, as if in prison, for another spin. The player then either wins or loses this bet on the next spin in a normal set up.
The French Roulette table is a breath of fresh air. It’s not just like playing other roulette types and it offers something quite different and unique for the roulette for Canadians who want a fun adventure today.
